In 1949, CBH was established, at Dr. Robert Wilson, an American missionary's own office to take of the 45 orphans before and during the Korean war. |

In the upheaval caused by the Korean War the missionaries agreed to sponsor the unofficial orphanage with Christians. Missionary Bruce Cummings of Gwangju region of Korea of U.S. of South Presbyterian Church, Missionary Knox, Missionary Codington, Missionary Root,
and Pastor Paik, Younghum became the leader of the sponsoring members led by chairman missionary Root.
Because of the increasing orphans due to Korea War, they bought large area, 210 Yangrim Dong, Gwangju, Chulla Nam Do. and moved there to take of them.

Dr. Codington,medical missonary of the Korean missonary Association of the South Presbyterian Church, and the chairman of the Gwangju Presbyterian Hospital(Che-joong Hospital), donated regular medical services for the orphans twice a week, and arranged medical services from Chejoong Hospital for emergent children.
